Set up in 1938, the FGMEE includes :

• 13 regional federations
• 2 national federations : the S.P.D.E.I. (professional electronics) www.spdei.fr, and the S.I.G.R.E.M. (household electric appliances)
• 1 association : the LIDIC (Computer Connections between Distributors and Manufacturers), which normalizes the EDI

 It represents more than 90 % of the professional distribution of electric material in France.

The federation's leading role is to allow the federations which compose it, to promote, illustrate, study and defend the interests of its members, who are completely representative of the profession.

It is an active member of the EUEW: European Union of  Wholesalers in Electric Material, which brings together federations of 14 countries, created in 1955 (before the EEC), which allows the exchange and the review at least once a year, our profession in Europe.
